Circle plans to launch the Arc public mainnet on September 16, transitioning the blockchain from test and private environments to public use, while retaining a permissioned validator set for block production and network governance. Arc’s public testnet has processed about 671.5 million transactions, with nearly 3 million wallets created, and more than 100 partners active on private mainnet. The network uses proof-of-authority consensus and supports Ethereum-compatible applications. At launch, validators will include Circle and 11 major financial and payments institutions, with roughly 20 validators expected overall. Public users will gain open access to deploy contracts and send transactions using USDC-denominated fees involving real economic value.
This update represents a notable development in the Crypto sector. Organizations and founders tracking this space should evaluate potential strategic and technical implications on their operations.
