Brazil’s central bank has built a real-time crypto threat alert system with blockchain security firm Hypernative to connect banks and domestic exchanges, helping detect cyberattacks and track funds when stolen money is moved into cryptocurrencies. The initiative accelerated after attackers exploited C&M Software infrastructure in 2025, siphoning up to $180 million from reserve accounts and routing a portion through Brazilian exchanges, stablecoins and over-the-counter platforms, exposing coordination gaps between traditional finance and crypto markets. Integration with exchanges Foxbit and Mercado Bitcoin is expected within weeks, while Brazil also introduces a 24-hour preventive hold on certain crypto transfers above $10,000 from 2027, strengthening oversight and giving providers more time to review suspicious transactions.
This update represents a notable development in the Crypto sector. Organizations and founders tracking this space should evaluate potential strategic and technical implications on their operations.
