Cardano opens first IBC connection with Injective

Cardano has established its first Inter-Blockchain Communication connection with Injective, enabling direct cross-chain interaction between the two networks. The integration is now live, allowing tokens and data to move through the IBC protocol. IBC is a standard originally developed within the Cosmos ecosystem to let independent blockchains communicate securely. By adopting this framework, Cardano connects to an existing interoperability infrastructure rather than building a completely proprietary bridging solution. The new linkage could encourage developers to design decentralized applications that operate across both ecosystems, potentially increasing liquidity and utility. Observers will watch transaction volumes and security performance to evaluate the integrationโ€™s long-term impact.

Dinari launches tokenized S&P 500 stocks

Dinari launched a platform letting eligible U.S. investors trade more than 700 tokenized stocks, including all S&P 500 constituents, directly onchain using USDC through self-custody wallets, via a partnership with Circle. The tokenized equities, branded as dShares, are each backed one-to-one by underlying securities held in qualified custody. Dinari previously secured U.S. authorization to operate a tokenized-equity platform, positioning itself early in the tokenized securities market. Dinari cautioned that limited liquidity could make tokenized securities harder to sell at preferred times or prices. Broader questions persist around trading volumes and evolving U.S. regulation, even as institutions experiment with similar tokenization pilots.

BlackRock tokenizes $311B on Ethereum with Kinexys

BlackRock has tokenized $311 billion worth of European money market funds on Ethereum, using JP Morganโ€™s Kinexys platform to issue blockchain-based representations of traditional fund shares for institutional investors and market participants. The move builds on earlier experiments with tokenized liquidity funds and reflects growing institutional interest in bringing regulated financial products onto public blockchains, where on-chain tokens can mirror existing securities while operating within established compliance frameworks. If successful, the initiative could accelerate adoption of tokenized assets across Europe, influence regulatory approaches to digital securities, and encourage other asset managers and banks to explore similar large-scale implementations on Ethereum and other networks.

NEAR launches staking payments for AI credits

NEAR has introduced a staking-based payment system for NEAR AI, letting users lock NEAR tokens to receive monthly compute credits instead of paying with conventional cloud billing, subscriptions, or credit cards. The model grants access to 43 hosted AI models from providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. Locked tokens are not spent; credits scale with stake size, aligning token ownership with AI compute access. NEAR aims to create practical token utility and crypto-native payment rails for developers and autonomous agents. Adoption remains uncertain, with questions around economics, credit predictability, user experience, and competition with traditional API billing.

Chainlink launches TWAP price feeds on mainnet

Chainlink has launched Time-Weighted Average Price feeds on mainnet, offering 30-second and 60-second windows to supply manipulation-resistant crypto price data. Polymarket will begin using these feeds to settle short-duration markets from 7 August. Unlike single-snapshot oracles, the new feeds average prices over brief intervals, helping dilute the impact of sudden trades near expiry. They are delivered through Chainlink Data Streams, with access for existing credentialed users and pricing from $150 per month. Polymarket will migrate its 5-minute, 15-minute and 4-hour crypto markets to TWAP-based settlement, supported by $1 million in liquidity incentives during August. Chainlink continues soak testing and infrastructure calibration ahead of broader potential DeFi adoption.
